About the book
YO-KAI WATCH (妖怪ウォッチ) is a series based on the popular video game developed and published by Level-5.
The franchise has amassed a huge following, and is currently one of the most popular series among children in Japan, with its anime movie raking in the highest grossing opening weekend of any Japanese film.
The English animated series was released in July/August 2015 in Asia. Various toys, such as the Yo-kai Watch and Yo-kai Medals, have been produced based on the series to become commercial successes. Hasbro will also be releasing a toy line based on the series worldwide in 2016.
In 2014, the YO-KAI WATCH manga serialized in CoroCoro Comics won the 38th Kodansha Manga Award in the Best Children’s Manga category.
