Singapore, June 18, 2018 –  One of Singapore’s most recognisable comic icons from the 90s is mounting a revival. Shogakukan Asia announced today that it will be relaunching all eight original comics of Mr. Kiasu and a limited-release Mr. Kiasu Collection box set.

The release of Mr. Kiasu: Everything Also Like Real in 2017 after an 18-year hiatus saw renewed interest and increasing demand  for the publisher to revive the classic Mr. Kiasu comics. Responding to the readers’ overwhelming support, Shogakukan Asia will be publishing all eight volumes of the original Mr. Kiasu comics, along with a limited-release collection set to meet their demand.

The Mr. Kiasu Collection will include the original Mr. Kiasu volumes packaged in a special box with serial number designed by its creator Mr Johnny Lau, together with an exclusive Mr. Kiasu figurine (3 inches in height). Retailing at $88 (inclusive of GST), the collection will be available for pre-order at Kinokuniya, Popular, MPH, ActionCity & TOG starting 22nd June. Only 500 sets will be released.

The single volumes of the original Mr. Kiasu comics will be available for sale from 29th June at major bookstores, ActionCity & TOG  and will retail for $10.90 (inclusive of GST).

Readers will be able to exchange a free Mr. Kiasu sticker after having a haircut at QB House, with a flyer inside the comic books.

Bringing back nostalgia for the existing fans and growing a new generation of fans, the series’ brand of easily relatable Singaporean humour will allow Singaporeans young and old to explore together; bonding the different generations together.

In line with the revival of the Mr. Kiasu, there are also plans to release a new tenth volume of Mr. Kiasu in September 2018 as well as a live action movie in early 2019.
