About the book
Magi: The Adventures of Sinbad is a spin-off prequel to the popular manga series MAGI: The Labyrinth of Magic, which
won the award for “Best Shōnen manga” at the 59th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2013. Written by Shinobu Ohtaka, the
story focuses on Sinbad – a popular character of the original MAGI series and his past adventures before he became the
King of Sindria.
A 2-part OVA series was produced for Magi: Adventures of Sinbad, packaged with the original Japanese volume 3 & 4.
Summary of the book
It’s festival time in Imchak as the villagers celebrate the birth of a new warrior, Hinahoho. Amidst the merrymaking, however, Hinahoho still has doubts on whether he had rightfully earned his new name. When word of a new dungeon reaches his ears, he decides to capture it and prove to everyone… and to himself that he is a full-fledged warrior in his own right. However, the dungeon proves to be more than what he can handle…
